Sammy Maples was born and raised in Knoxville, TN. He previously worked in the Information Technology field as a systems analyst for eleven years before returning to school to be a pharmacist.

He attended The University of Tennessee for his undergraduate degree studying biochemistry and molecular biology.  He continued his education and went to the University of Oklahoma for Pharmacy, graduating in 2012.

Sammy and his wife, who is an Optometrist in Port Charlotte moved to Punta Gorda after Sammy’s graduation.  Before joining Millennium Physician Group, Sammy previously worked at Publix as a Pharmacist.

Sammy is a member of the Punta Gorda Lions Club and volunteers with Remote Area Medical. Before returning to school he coached boys and girls high school soccer in Knoxville and was a NAUI scuba instructor at the University of Tennessee. He enjoys fishing, soccer, traveling and spending time with family.
